NEW COMERS POST 1

Who: OPEN TO ALL
What: The first wave of newcomers arrive in the hospital.
Where: The Hospital, Center City
When: July 26
Warnings: Please tag any smut or triggers in the comment subject line.

The common room is just as brightly lit and white as the rest of the hospital. There are some scattered seats - large plush chairs and stiff looking couches, as well as wooden chairs at tables - and a TV blaring local soap operas in the corner. A few long tables are set up along the walls, each with a sign dangling down from the front to inform newcomers of what they can find here. Housing, job opportunities, and the Proxima Gamma Information Desk. Minus a few pamphlets about the unique attractions the island has to offer, there isn’t really that much of use on the last table. It’s clearly meant more for tourists than people who have been kidnapped.

Another set of tables hold a variety of snacks; fruits, vegetables, various candies, as well as a table with water, punch, and soda. No alcohol, unfortunately - this is a hospital, after all. You’ll have to leave to go find a bar for something stronger than that.

There’s not much place else to go - so come on in, settle down, and maybe find a familiar face, if you’re lucky.

In an alcove of the common area, one girl simply stood and watched. One hand held up the device they'd given her in one hand, tapping at the screen briefly before sliding it out of sight again. It wasn't of much use just yet, after all.

Cloaked entirely in a green, high-necked cloak, her body was difficult to see clearly, heavy boots touching the ground at its base. Purple hair framed mixed Chinese and Italian features, narrowed eyes gazing at everyone that she saw curiously, but not approaching at first. It was almost like she was watching for something in the people that emerged from their rooms.

Recognition.

Ed's neck still felt like it was throbbing, a bandage wrapped nearly around the base of his throat from where he'd immediately tried to dig out the chip when he'd felt it come to the surface. He knew it was probably futile, but when he'd been outright told he had something inside him, it had been an almost instinctual reaction. The nurses had sedated him quickly and he hadn't managed to even touch the thing. Failing once was enough to make him realize he couldn't try again. At least not while he was stuck in this hospital.

Still seething with rage that was held just barely under the surface, he was trying his best to keep a cool head. Beating people worked sometimes, but these nurses seemed to know little, and were less than willing to share. Instead of heading straight to the common room, Ed had decided to snoop around the halls, trying to find some answers in any corridor that the doctors would actually allow him in to.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III | HTTYD | Open!

[personal profile] horrendoushaddock 2015-07-27 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Shell-shocked was probably the best way to describe the look that showed on Hiccup's face as he sat on a couch in the common room, good leg tucked underneath him and peg leg dangling off the edge of the couch and scraping over the floor. He had the tablet device on his lap, both a little frightened and extremely curious about the thing. The brief instructions had been gone over at least a dozen times and a nurse had at least been nice enough to show him how to really swipe through it and try to start figuring it out, but he was just as baffled and lost as he had been when he started.

This was some weird dream, wasn't it? A strange land, nothing like Berk, with buildings and devices the likes of which he could never have dreamed up. A part of him wanted to take things apart and figure out how everything worked, but he was still so lost in trying to have this new reality sink in that he didn't know quite what to make of anything.

All he knew was he wanted his dad - something that was impossible - or maybe Gobber. Someone older and wiser who could tell him it was going to be alright and that this was all just in his head. This dream was sinking in as a nightmare pretty quickly and he was starting to feel a little sick.

Focusing on the tablet, Hiccup did his best to continue to tap and swipe his fingers over the screen, using it as a grounding piece as he tried to sort through what was going on.

Steve Rogers | MCU | OPEN

This, sadly, wasn't the first time he'd woken up in a strange place. But he supposed he should be happy that no one had gone through the effort of trying to trick him into thinking he was somewhere he wasn't. Problem was, he had no idea where he actually was. Until the mad little scientist came and gave his song and dance, directing Steve to his communication's device before leaving. Without answering anything Steve had asked.

He'd been tempted to break the damn wall down and follow after the man, but a door had opened up and even though it was exactly what they wanted him to do and where they wanted him to go, it just seemed better at the moment to follow along. Until he didn't have to.

Coming into the room, he saw other people milling around, all seeming just as confused as he was, if not angry or upset. Great. So he wasn't the only guinea pig here. His hand moved up to the itch that reminded him of that implant, a frown crossing his features. This had HYDRA written all over it, though he wasn't quite certain about the seeming freedom he'd been given, or the others as well. No restraints. No guards. Just that chip and a phone before they were told to go off and 'do whatever you wanted'. Dr. Creepy might regret giving him that kind of leeway, but for now, he was going to move around the room, looking at the magazines and pamphlets and maybe trying to catch someone's eye to see if they were up to attempting to exchange a little information.

Lightning Farron | Final Fantasy XIII (CRAU) | Open

[personal profile] brandedrose 2015-07-27 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
New setting, new parameters, same bullshit. Lightning was less than a happy camper when she had woken up, and was less so by the time the sordid explanation was done. Though on the bright side, she was able to remove her old collar and toss that out the nearest window. Seeing it fall and land unceremoniously brought quite a bit of satisfaction, even if it was hollow. The chip was, at least, more conspicuous, but still as unsettling.

As she walked out into the common area, she dug at where the chip was. A part of her wanted to dig it out, at least try to, but a larger part knew it would be futile. She balled her hand up into a fist, wrenching it to her side and forcing herself to keep it there as she approached the information tables. Ten to one she would be stuck here awhile, so might as well see what she could find out.

Dante | DMC: Devil May Cry | Open!

[personal profile] poked_heart 2015-07-27 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Needless to say, Dante didn't handle being kidnapped very well. After having had to be restrained and sedated after he tried to bash his way out, he's finally let out of his room well after he originally woke up. The chip might be helping keeping him calm, who knows, but he's lost the urge to fight his way out. At least for now. Chip or not, he also knows when he has to pick his battles, and this was not one he was going to win as is.

He's looking a little worse for wear when he finally half-stumbles into the common room. He rubs at his neck, fingers digging in and looking for the chip. The food is tempting, but he resolutely ignores it and goes to stand in a secluded spot somewhere else, seeing if he can get the chip out and figure out his next move.

Hayley Marshall | The Originals/The Vampire Diaries | open!

[personal profile] louisianawolf 2015-07-27 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Once she gets to the common room, Hayley starts by looking over the information. She hasn't seen a familiar face yet, which is both a relief and not. A relief because that means she hasn't seen anyone familiar from home who is one of her enemies, but that also means she hasn't seen anyone familiar from home who is a friend.

She's trying not to think about whatever's in her neck, though it's hard. Bad experiences with magic back home raises her suspicions about things here. With her new communications device in one hand, she moves over to stand near the set of tables with snacks. She picks up an apple, sniffs at it, then takes a bite. A few seconds pass before Hayley walks over to an empty chair. "Is this seat taken?" She asks the person in the chair next to the empty one.

Allison Argent | Teen Wolf | open!

Waking up in a hospital in who-knows-where after being in Beacon Hills sure is a change. Especially as she had just been pushed under a tub of ice water back home. She's relying on her survival skills now; just because she's weapon-less doesn't mean she's defenseless. She's still in her thin, black dress and feeling a bit cold as she rubs the place at her neck where the chip has been implanted.

She also knows that knowing where she is is important, so she opens up the map of the island on her tablet, and looks very closely at it so she can orient herself once she gets out of the hospital common room. She looks up from the tablet every so often and if she makes eye contact with someone and she doesn't recognize them from Beacon Hills, she'll approach them and say: "Hi, I'm Allison. How ... long have you been here?" She might as well start seeing if she can find any sort of rhyme or reason to the people who have found themselves here.

"Oh my god candy. Soda. CAFFEINE." Kim rushes over to the refreshments table and proceeds to STUFF HER FACE with junk food. After maybe ten pieces of candy she just grabs an entire bowl and just sits down on a chair nearby, unwrapping candy and shoving them in her mouth.

Initial reaction complete, she scans the room (metaphorically and literally, given the advanced optical technology built into her cybernetic eye).

"Mwhere ith thish pwashe shupposhed to be, anyway?" It was waaaay more modern and sophisticated than anything the hedonists had ever put together.

Waking in unfamiliar surroundings was hardly new to him, although the fact of this one being a hospital was more than a little unsettling. Elijah left the room as soon as the video finished playing, tucking the device into a pocket as he moved through the hallways, stopping the occasional nurse for a conversation.

That led nowhere.

Eventually, he found his way to the common room, taking in the refreshments before moving to find a seat after reading over the available information before he took a seat on one of the couches. If anyone he knew was present, they would eventually make their way here.

Or he'd hear the screams in at least one case.

Standing off to the side and watching the others, Sheena reached up to adjust a now non-existent collar and sighed in frustration. Just how many times was she going to do that before it sank in that it wasn't there any longer? She could still feel its phantom presence--much like one who could still feel a ring on their finger when it was gone.

After her stint on Atia, Sheena had become somewhat of a realist. She knew she had to look into employment and housing, but for the moment, she was more interested in something else.

If Chloe had been brought here, had anyone else she knew made the trip?

His end had been traumatizing...and his new beginning almost just as much so. The program was still very disoriented and confused as to how he was here in the first place. Didn't he derezz? This shouldn't be possible! It had taken him a while to adjust and become conscious enough to receive the screened messages and the instructions for the tablet device. Technologically speaking, it wasn't a blatant shock. There was similar communications tools and methods back in his home system.

Still, there was plenty here to shock him. Being still alive being the primary one. The second was how glitching bright and white it was. It made his eyes hurt. Oh, and then the whole matter of being installed with a chip of all things. Vector didn't like that at all. The idea that his disc was tampered with didn't sit well with him and was too disturbing to think about. Whatever they did to his disc with this chip, he couldn't do a thing about it.

When the opportunity came to leave his room, he decided that perhaps a little recon couldn't hurt. So far the information he had been given was pretty vague, which was annoying. Perhaps exploring could reveal more answers.

The black guard stepped into the common room, eyes squinted against the brightness as he glanced around warily. He spotted other people there, and so kept to the perimeter as he observed. Unfortunately, due to the fact that the place was so bright, his efforts at being unobtrusive was kind of ridiculous in hindsight. He stuck out like a sore thumb in his form fitting armor. The black of it, and his hair providing a stark contrast. He paused at the food table, eyeing the various items with a wary suspicious frown before moving on. He lingered at every table, picking up various bits of information as he went.

Albus Severus Potter | Harry Potter Next Gen | OTA

[personal profile] secondpotter 2015-08-01 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Albus shuffled through the common area still groggy from whatever potions the staff had fed him prior to waking up. He couldn't remember why he was in a hospital. At first glance he assumed it was St. Mungo's but there were far too many muggle devices around for this to be any building in the Wizarding world. Why was he here? The last thing he remembered was heading back to his flat in London. Could he have been attacked? Perhaps someone had used an Obliviate charm on him which would explain the hazy memories. If that was the case then he was in bigger trouble than he first imagined.

There were people in the room but no one he recognized. They all looked to be just as confused as he was which wasn't reassuring. Albus idly picked up a pamphlet and leaned against the table, trying to make sense of the words on the page. Hopefully something would jog his memory.
