NEW COMERS POST 1
Who: OPEN TO ALL
What: The first wave of newcomers arrive in the hospital.
Where: The Hospital, Center City
When: July 26
Warnings: Please tag any smut or triggers in the comment subject line.
The common room is just as brightly lit and white as the rest of the hospital. There are some scattered seats - large plush chairs and stiff looking couches, as well as wooden chairs at tables - and a TV blaring local soap operas in the corner. A few long tables are set up along the walls, each with a sign dangling down from the front to inform newcomers of what they can find here. Housing, job opportunities, and the Proxima Gamma Information Desk. Minus a few pamphlets about the unique attractions the island has to offer, there isn’t really that much of use on the last table. It’s clearly meant more for tourists than people who have been kidnapped.
Another set of tables hold a variety of snacks; fruits, vegetables, various candies, as well as a table with water, punch, and soda. No alcohol, unfortunately - this is a hospital, after all. You’ll have to leave to go find a bar for something stronger than that.
There’s not much place else to go - so come on in, settle down, and maybe find a familiar face, if you’re lucky.

"So what are you looking for?"

He shrugged, glancing around, glad to see no nurses nearby. "Answers." He turned down another hall, glancing in through an open door that was nothing but another patients room. "They keep shooing me away from any of the good stuff, though. Unsurprisingly. But I'm not gonna just sit in a common room, waiting around for more directions."

"Or maybe you could make some kind of distraction and I could sneak in? Where are some of the good areas?"
no subject
A distraction, though... "Mmmm. There's an entrance to the operating rooms about two halls down from here. It's probably where they put in everyone's chips before we woke up. And there are a few doors that lead to some other sections of the hospital, a science wing I think? But they won't let me anywhere near the doors."

Kim also cast around, her cybernetic eye flicking to black as she scanned the walls for electronics, seeking out all the hidden cameras.
"Of course it'll be hard to do anything with all these cameras around."

She walked over to the camera, and raised her hand up. Her tools snaked into the crevice between the wall and the dome and unscrewed the mirrored dome, which she grabbed, revealing a typical security camera underneath.
"Camera. The dome is kind of a lens, giving a wide angle shot of the entire hallway, and it also serves to kind of hide the fact that you're under surveillance, even though everyone kind of knows that the dome means 'camera.' Out of sight, out of mind."

Either way, it caused him to cross his arms, the clear look of a pouting child showing in his eyes, even if he tried to keep it off his facial features. "That doesn't look anything like the stuff we've got back home."

"Maybe. I never thought about it much."

Kim was very wary of people who didn't 'think' about things. They tended to be judgmental about those who do. And anyone who claimed not to think about things, in her opinion, forfeited the right to throw their opinion around.
