NEW COMERS POST 1

Who: OPEN TO ALL
What: The first wave of newcomers arrive in the hospital.
Where: The Hospital, Center City
When: July 26
Warnings: Please tag any smut or triggers in the comment subject line.

The common room is just as brightly lit and white as the rest of the hospital. There are some scattered seats - large plush chairs and stiff looking couches, as well as wooden chairs at tables - and a TV blaring local soap operas in the corner. A few long tables are set up along the walls, each with a sign dangling down from the front to inform newcomers of what they can find here. Housing, job opportunities, and the Proxima Gamma Information Desk. Minus a few pamphlets about the unique attractions the island has to offer, there isn’t really that much of use on the last table. It’s clearly meant more for tourists than people who have been kidnapped.

Another set of tables hold a variety of snacks; fruits, vegetables, various candies, as well as a table with water, punch, and soda. No alcohol, unfortunately - this is a hospital, after all. You’ll have to leave to go find a bar for something stronger than that.

There’s not much place else to go - so come on in, settle down, and maybe find a familiar face, if you’re lucky.

"I've heard that about it." Numerous times. Bucky had wanted to go down almost since he'd first heard about it as a teenager. Then the war had come up and... well.

He gave her a sideways glance, not wanting to seem insulting, but gauging women in the more modern age was so much harder than 'his' time. "You have any, ah, experience with recon and exploring?"

"Lots." She starts simply. "I left home at thirteen." Actually, she got kicked out. Because she transformed into a werewolf in her adoptive parents living room and wrecked it. That was the day she -- and they -- discovered she wasn't actually human. "I have those skills down pretty well, after spending nearly a decade out on my own." Using skills like exploring and recon were how she survived. Though some time of that was spent in a lot of parks and other areas with other wolf packs she came across on her journey to find her biological family, but she never stayed with one pack too long. So, while some of that time, she wasn't 'alone', she never felt like she truly belonged in any of the packs she did hang out with for a short while. "I've also developed good senses." While common sense can be included in that, she's speaking more of her five senses which are heightened, especially sight, smell, sound.

"That's... a pretty young age to be out on your own." There was a frown now, Steve wondering what kind of world this one had come from that just let teenage girls stroll around on their own. Not that she was thirteen now, or looked it, but there was that bristling of a protective alpha male, subtle, but there. "I suppose having to live on your own would help with that."

"Yeaaaah ... that one's not without a longer story either." One she'll likely save for later. It's one thing to mention she's just from a place with witches, kind of another to mention the fact she's a werewolf -- no, a werewolf-vampire hybrid. She, however, returns the question to him: "How about you and exploring?"

"Part of my job, ma'am. I'm a soldier." Still was, even after a long sleep. He'd jumped right back in with both feet, knowing that sitting on the sidelines just wasn't anything he could do. He'd been given a gift, a purpose, and not living up to that just wasn't something he was capable of doing. Until he wasn't capable of it, Steve would put himself between the innocent and those trying to harm them. It was just in his nature.
