My Kind of Town... Sort of (Open)
Who: Chloe and You.
What: Gotta get situated somehow, and no time like the present. Home finding. Exploring the seedier parts of town. Random Parkour moments. Ignoring the robotic natives where possible.
Where: South Central City, the Slums.
When: Anytime from 8/1-8/7
Warnings: Chloe's a creep, and a voyeur deep down, and the South City's not a good place, so attend to individual warnings in threads. However, content should be mild for now.
Hermione wasn't here. Parsee wasn't here. Naoto wasn't here. She'd waited and squatted in the vicinity of the hospital for almost a week to be sure they weren't going to show. Rooftop living, however, was quickly getting old and she felt the need to explore, to find a place to carve out as her own. She had the fliers from before, and she'd make contact with the police soon enough. But, for now she wanted a place to live. What better place than the hives of scum and villainy? She'd fit right in, and anyone stupid enough to actually try and hurt her could end up in a scrap heap somewhere...
PROMPTS:
1) Home "Buying" -
The first order of business was to find somewhere to live. Other people would be looking for apartments to rent, homes to consider purchasing, places to set down roots until they could verify just how much they hated the scientists here and plot futile plans at self-destruction. Chloe was not one of those people. getting money together was all well and good, but she saw no reason to bother with an easily identifiable place to live. She could meet people elsewhere and ran faster than some cars. No, instead, she looked for a run-down building that was still physically intact and easier to secure.
She was currently squatting on the roof of the building, looking down to the dingy streets below. The actual doorway access into the place was rusted shut and useless. She'd had to get in through a bit of gymnastics herself, which was advantageous. It meant the place was more or less secure from people who didn't have superpowers. She could worry about something better later.
2) Exploring, the Old Fashioned Way -
Walking the streets of the South part of town openly might not have seemed the most brilliant idea, but it gave Chloe a slowly building idea of how the scum operated on a day to day basis. She was walking around, stopping in little dank restaurant kiosks, shops and the like to take care of basic needs her first real week on her own. The robots were useless, but if she listened to their useless banter enough, she could establish patterns, get an idea if there were 'gangs' or the like. Figure out what kind of business they actually did while pretending to be real people.
Just the lay of the land, and she was easy to spot in that green cloak of hers from time to time. Perhaps it was someone hassling her that found themselves collapsing from a surprise ice flow they stepped on. Maybe it was eating cheap, barely edible ramen in a stand? Maybe just walking from alley to alley... she wasn't hard to find.
3) Exploring, Her Way -
Within 24 hours, Chloe knew for certain the local robots weren't going to be any use, and the few humans in the city were only marginally more useful. Physical observation of their habits would prove far more helpful, but most of all when she wasn't seen. This meant skulking about, leaping from building to building, twisting around precarious and almost impossible perches to find spots where she could play the gargoyle and squat out of sight and out of mind. Even in the dark periods, she could see just fine thanks to Thanatos' gifts, so she was watching, reading lips where appropriate, observing and listening.
Someone more acrobatic, perhaps, could find her there...
